Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, King Princess is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer. The product of a musical family, she spent much of her childhood in her father’s Brooklyn studio, Mission Sound, learning instrumentation along the way. At 17, she moved to LA to study at USC and to write and record what would become her breakout debut EP, Make My Bed. Signed to Mark Ronson’s label Zelig Recordings, the EP was released to critical acclaim and featured her self-produced breakout platinum hit “1950.” The queer love anthem garnered big slots at US festivals all summer long and helped her to finish #2 in the Sound of BBC Poll for 2019. She released her debut album Cheap Queen in October of that year to critical acclaim with performances on Saturday Night Live and Late Night with Stephen Colbert. She supported the record with a sold-out, 34-date tour of North America before Covid-19 forced the postponement of her international dates supporting Harry Styles’ Fine Line Tour. To date, she has graced the covers of magazines and publications like V Magazine, GQ Style UK and Jalouse Magazine and appeared in fashion spreads for brands like Gucci and Rodarte. She is currently hard at work writing songs for her highly anticipated sophomore LP, named by Rolling Stone as one of the most anticipated releases for 2021.
